6th Gen LT1 Camaro Rear brake upgrade

A pretty simple swap to upgrade the rear single piston 12.4 rotor brake to a 13.3 rear rotor with the stock caliper ( all bolt in ) The difference in a 20 inch wheel is really nice as the 12.4 just looks too small, with the near 1 inch larger rotor the front to rear proportions look much better. Just a simple bracket swap along with a new pair of rotors ! Now you need to be able to put the car in brake service mode, scanners and some other ways are possible but this is required to get the piston back into the calipers for the new pads and rotors, now- here is a look at stock

And here is a look after the upgrade

A decent up size for this LT1 car !

So to start, pull the rotor and caliper off

Then the hub bearing, this is a fun one, the axle shaft has to be slide back to get on the 15mm hex headed bolts, an array of swivels and extension lengths and some patience and you can get the hub bearing out

(so we can change the backing plate for a larger one)

Drop your hub bearing back and and bolt it in.

Add your rotor, axle nut

Next add the abutment bracket, loaded with pins, caliper disc brake hardware and pad

then on goes the caliper. and now marvel at your work and new found brake power plus looks

These parts wont be around for a long time so if you have a thought about doing it, now is the time, I`d be happy to help! Bigbrakeupgrade@gmail.com for questions about this modification
